debut, “Somebody Somewhere” at the 400 Bar…during a blizzard. Still, it
was very exciting to get these tunes released on a real CD (with shrink
wrap!). The City Pages reviewed the disc, highlighting “‘Landlord’s
Daughter,’ a goofy, jangling anthem that might as easily have been penned
by Joey Ramone, Jim Ruiz, or Woody Guthrie.” We were proud for a bunch of
19,20, and 21 year olds…

To celebrate, we’re offering the album as a pay-what-you-want download at
Bandcamp. Or, pay nothing! We are also including the long out of print EP
that came out the fall before this album, “Whatever That Is”. Same deal.
Pay what ya want, or don’t. The songs will be up through the weekend with
this deal. So check them out, if you haven’t. With a couple very rare
exceptions, these tunes don’t make it into the live set anymore, but it’s
a fun look back to where we were at the time. Besides Martin, the two
albums feature Sean McPherson on bass, Josh Peterson on guitar (both still
in Heiruspecs), and drummer Kevin Hunt (also, like Martin, an early

Finally, Martin and Jake open for Canadian band, Deep Dark Woods tomorrow

Also, between two weekend sessions back in September and January, the band laid down 13 tracks toward a new LP with Rick Mattson at Sparta sound in Northern MN. I’d say we’re….90% done…? It was a great experience and a total surprise to realize we had the tunes and we’re able to mostly record live in one room…more on this at some point….see ya soon.
